Privacy & Cookies
Effective date: October 15, 2026.
This notice covers TuneMyRecipe at tunemyrecipe.com and www.tunemyrecipe.com. TuneMyRecipe is personally operated from Singapore. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact info@tunemyrecipe.com.
Recipes and tools
You do not need an account. Pasted recipes, edits and calculations are processed in your browser. We do not keep an archive of your pasted recipes or send them to an AI service. Your working recipe may be lost when you leave or reload the page.
When you import a link, our Cloudflare-hosted service receives the address and fetches the source page. Use public links without personal information or access tokens. Imported images may load from the source website, which receives your IP address and browser information and has its own privacy practices. You can paste text instead.
Analytics and cookies
When enabled, Google Analytics helps us understand which of our recipes people use, how our search and tools perform, and where improvements are needed. It loads only if you accept optional analytics cookies. You can reject it and still use the website, or change your choice through Cookie settings in the footer.
With your permission, analytics processes device and browser information, approximate location, page visits and selected actions, such as opening a recipe, completing a search, importing, scaling, converting, copying or printing. Our custom recipe-tool events use identifiers from our own catalog and limited action results. Selected automatic measurements record scrolling, file downloads and interactions with supported embedded videos where available. Automatic Site Search, Form Interactions and Outbound Clicks are turned off. Please do not enter personal or sensitive information into search or recipe tools. We do not deliberately send pasted recipe contents, email contents or contact details to Google Analytics. Our custom page-view events omit query strings and fragments. File-download and video events can include the relevant file or video address and interaction details. We do not use advertising features or sell personal information.
After you accept, we classify the arrival source into a small set of categories, such as Google, Pinterest, Instagram or email. We use recognized source tags or the referring site’s domain; we do not send the full referring address or campaign names, terms or other free text to analytics. We remember only that category and a timestamp in this tab’s session storage. Moving to another eligible page within 30 minutes reuses the category and refreshes that timestamp; actions on an already open page do not extend it. Older records are replaced on the next eligible page visit. Withdrawing consent clears the record; closing the tab normally clears session storage. Unknown sources are grouped together; reporting cannot identify every source.
We remember your analytics choice on this browser for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies, including _ga and _ga_*, last up to 180 days unless you remove them earlier. Withdrawing consent stops future Google Analytics events and clears our accessible analytics cookies; it does not automatically delete information already received by Google. Our Analytics setting for detailed event and user data is 14 months. User-identifier retention may renew with new activity, depending on the account setting; aggregated reports may remain longer. See how Google uses information from partner sites.
Separately from Google Analytics, we make one best-effort counting request when you first press Reject cookies in the automatically displayed cookie dialog without a current saved choice. We store only a daily total, using Singapore calendar days, to understand the use of our cookie controls. The request does not send cookies, a referring page, visitor identifiers or browsing details to our counter. Cloudflare handles connection information to deliver and protect the request; our counter does not store that information or link it to ratings or analytics. Rejecting keeps Google Analytics off.
Daily cleanup removes totals outside a rolling 90-calendar-day window. Older totals may remain until the next successful cleanup. Dated aggregate reports and recovery copies can remain under our separate reporting and backup retention practices. Accepting, opening Cookie settings, changing an existing choice or withdrawing consent is not counted. Delivery failures, repeat choices after storage is cleared or expires, automated actions and our own testing can affect the totals. These are button-action totals, not unique visitors or a consent rate; they do not follow your later browsing.
We also use Google Search Console to understand how our public pages appear in Google Search. It does not require an additional visitor-tracking script on this site.
Hosting and saved preferences
Cloudflare processes connection information, including IP addresses, requested addresses and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. Requested addresses can contain search terms. We use request, error and processing-time metrics to monitor the service, separately from optional Google Analytics. Automatic request logging in our import service is disabled; we do not keep diagnostic copies of recipe bodies or submitted import links. Cloudflare may maintain its own service and security records under the applicable settings and retention rules. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We use an approximate country estimate to choose initial units, without GPS access. When you choose Metric or US, we remember that preference in this browser’s local storage. It has no automatic expiry; change it using the unit controls or clear this site’s stored data in your browser. The tools still work if storage is blocked.
Recipe ratings
You can rate a recipe from one to five stars without an account or email address. We use Cloudflare to process and store ratings and display their average and count.
When you submit a rating, we set a first-party cookie called __Host-tmr-rating. It contains a random browser identifier that helps us recognize your current rating so you can change or remove it from the same browser. The cookie lasts up to 365 days and is renewed when you submit or change a rating. Reading recipes does not renew it. This cookie serves the rating function you request and is separate from optional Google Analytics cookies.
We store the recipe identifier, a recipe-specific protected form of the browser identifier, your star rating, and the dates it was created, updated and is due to lose its identifying link. We do not ask for your name, email address or comments. We do not send your rating or rating-cookie identifier to Google Analytics or link it to analytics records.
We preserve ratings indefinitely in combined historical star counts for each recipe. The same rule applies to every star value. Browser-linked records are scheduled for removal within 365 days after your last submission or change. Daily cleanup removes their identifying links and retains only their contributions to historical counts. If cleanup fails, we investigate and clear expired records before reopening voting. Permanent recipe retirement or removal of the ratings service may remove historical counts under our recorded deletion process.
While we can recognize your active rating, choose another star to change it or use Remove rating to withdraw it. After the identifying link is removed, we cannot locate your individual historical contribution to change or remove it. Clearing or blocking the cookie, changing browsers or devices, or letting the identifying record expire can also prevent recognition. A shared browser may share a rating identity; a new submission after recognition is lost may count separately. Cookie removal alone does not remove a previous contribution from our totals.
To limit automated abuse, we use short-lived request counters based on a protected, changing form of connection information. Request counters use a 60-second window. We also store a daily count of new ratings for each recipe and network, identified by a protected key that changes daily. This count is separate from individual rating records and contains no browser identifier. Networks can add up to 10 new ratings per recipe per UTC day; people sharing a connection may share this limit. Existing recognized ratings can still be changed or removed, subject to the short-term request limit. Daily counters reset at 00:00 UTC; daily cleanup removes prior-day counters, with additional catch-up during rating writes if cleanup was delayed. If we temporarily restore an older service version, we maintain cleanup separately for these counters; after a database restore, we remove prior-day counters again before reopening voting. If cleanup fails, we investigate and clear overdue records before reopening voting. We do not write raw IP addresses or rating-cookie values into the ratings database or application logs. Cloudflare processes connection information to deliver and protect the service, as described under Hosting and saved preferences; its own service and security records follow the applicable settings and retention rules.
Cloudflare database recovery can retain prior identifying records for up to 30 days after their removal from the live database. Application logs and traces are disabled for this service. We do not schedule additional database exports. Any restricted manual recovery export is deleted within 30 days. Before reopening a restored database, we remove expired identifying records again. Contact info@tunemyrecipe.com for privacy questions or requests. We may be unable to locate a specific historical contribution after its identifying link is removed.
